Using Our Services
Responsibly
Welcome to The ALTAR (Academy for Learning Technology & Arts to share Rhema). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website, learning portal, courses, content, and related services.
By using our website or registering for any of our offerings, you agree to abide by these Terms.
If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not access or use our services.
Who We Are
The ALTAR is a Christian media academy dedicated to equipping the Church with biblically grounded training in storytelling, technology, and the arts. Our courses and content are designed exclusively for churches, Christian ministries, and individuals seeking to apply their gifts in service of the Gospel.
While technical skills may be relevant across industries, our programs are not intended for secular or commercial use. Even in our most technical courses, the examples, application, and instruction are grounded in the context of Christian ministry.

We offer:
Instructor-led online courses
Self-paced pre-recorded training
Downloadable course notes, templates, and media assets (as applicable)
Certificates of participation or completion (not externally accredited)

Account Registration
and Use
To access most of our services, you must create an account on our online learning portal. By registering, you agree to:
-
Provide accurate, up-to-date information
-
Keep your login credentials secure
-
Use the account for personal, non-commercial learning purposes only
Your access may be revoked or restricted if:
-
You misuse the platform
-
Share your account or course materials without permission
-
Disrupt other learners or communities
-
Violate any part of these Terms
Some community features (e.g., forums, group discussions, or messaging groups) may also be offered to enhance your learning experience. These must be used respectfully and in line with our code of conduct.
Your account is personal and non-transferable. Access is granted solely to the individual who registered and may not be shared, sold, or otherwise transferred to another person. Any attempt to share login credentials, allow unauthorized users to access the platform, or misuse course access may result in suspension or permanent revocation of your account without refund.
Account Use and Fair Access
Each user account is licensed for use solely by the individual who registered. You agree
not to share your login credentials or allow others to access content purchased under your account. This includes but is not limited to:
-
Sharing video access or downloadable content with others
-
Allowing group viewing of courses without prior written permission
-
Hosting course content on any external platform or storage
If we have reasonable grounds to believe your account is being misused — such as through shared access, credential distribution, or unauthorized dissemination of materials — we reserve the right to:
-
Suspend or terminate your account immediately
-
Deny any refund, regardless of access or usage status
-
Take appropriate legal or administrative action if necessary
We value the integrity of our learning community and ask that you respect the effort and intent behind the content created for the Church.
Account Security and
Multi-Factor Authentication
(MFA)
In order to protect user data and platform integrity, all learner accounts require Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) at login, using a time-based one-time password (TOTP). This additional layer of security is mandatory and cannot be disabled.
Any attempt to bypass MFA, disable authentication, or repeatedly fail authentication may result in your account being temporarily or permanently disabled by the platform provider.
The ALTAR is not liable for any resulting loss of access, data, or disruption of course progress caused by such actions or enforcement mechanisms implemented by our third-party learning platform.
Need Help with Access?
If you experience issues related to MFA, account deletion, or login errors, please reach out to us at support@thealtarmediaacademy.com and we’ll assist you promptly. Please note that in cases of security enforcement by the platform, response times may be dependent on the provider’s protocols.
Payments and Refunds
a. Payments
You agree to pay all applicable fees associated with courses or memberships. We may offer one-time payments, partial payment options, or subscription plans depending on the course.
Course access will typically begin after successful payment unless otherwise noted.
b. Refunds
Unless a course explicitly states eligibility for refunds, all purchases are non-refundable. If refund terms are mentioned on the course or product page, those terms will apply.
In exceptional cases (such as billing errors), you may contact refunds@thealtarmediacompany.com. We will evaluate such requests on a case-by-case basis.
For certain higher-priced programs, an interest-based consultation may be required before payment. During this step, we will evaluate if the program is a good fit and communicate expectations clearly to the applicant.
By proceeding with a course or service purchase, you agree to these conditions and acknowledge that you have reviewed the relevant course page and policies.
c. Group Bookings
For churches, ministries, or organizations wishing to enroll multiple participants in the same course:
-
Small groups (up to 3 participants) should register individually.
-
Medium groups (4–5 participants) may be accommodated under a group booking request.
-
Larger groups (more than 5 participants) must complete a group enquiry form. We will review the request and work with you to provide customized pricing and enrollment options.
Each participant in a group booking will still be required to have an individual learning account on our platform. Group bookings are intended only for members of the same church or ministry team and cannot be shared or resold beyond the approved group.
Group booking requests should be submitted in advance through the designated form on our website. Approval and pricing for group enrollments remain at the discretion of The ALTAR.
We reserve the right to revoke or suspend access for any participant or organization found to be misusing group booking privileges, sharing login credentials beyond the approved group, or otherwise violating these Terms.
Use of Materials and
Intellectual Property
All course materials — including videos, audio content, lesson notes, templates, slides, and visual assets — are the property of The ALTAR and protected under applicable intellectual property laws.
You may:
Use materials for your own personal learning
Apply the training in your own church or ministry context, provided it is non-commercial and non-public
You may not:
Share, resell, upload, or distribute course content to third parties
Adapt or create derivative content for public training purposes
Represent our content as your own
If you wish to use our training materials for teaching others beyond your local church or ministry, you must receive prior written permission from The ALTAR
Platform and
Service Availability
Our services are delivered through a secure, professionally managed online learning platform. While this platform is hosted via third-party infrastructure, it is fully branded and maintained by The ALTAR.
We will make every reasonable effort to ensure uninterrupted service, including coordinating with our service providers to resolve disruptions. However, we are not liable for:
Temporary interruptions or service downtime caused by platform outages
Rescheduling or cancellation of live sessions due to system issues
Temporary inaccessibility of self-paced courses due to technical disruptions
In the event of such disruptions, we will work diligently to restore access as soon as possible. Your enrollment entitles you to access the course for the committed duration, and no such temporary outage shall affect that entitlement.
If you are experiencing a delay or access issue, you may contact us at support@thealtarmediaacademy.com so we can assist you promptly.
